News Release: April 22, 2010
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day being celebrated on April 22, 2010, TelSpan employees held an Earth Day jeans day fundraiser called “Greans Day” in order to raise money towards the purchase of five 8 foot tall trees. These trees will be planted in downtown Indianapolis where TelSpan is headquartered, through a donation to Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) envisions a vibrant city, with every neighborhood landscape thriving and well, and its people empowered, mobilized, and devoted toward that vision. Through their NeighborWoods program, KIB is working with community organizations including TelSpan to plant 100,000 trees in Marion County by 2017.
2010 not only marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, but also marks the 20th anniversary of TelSpan’s incorporation. For over two decades, TelSpan has helped organizations “go green” and aid the environment by replacing travel with conferencing while reducing the carbon footprint of both the host organization and conference participants.
